A NOTE ABOUT OUR TIERED TUITION SYSTEM

At Miles of Music we value accessibility, representation and diversity of ages, incomes, cultures, abilities and more. For this reason, we use a "tiered tuition system" that allows campers to pay what they can. The "Full Tuition" tier represents our actual cost per camper on the island ($1200).  “Discount Tier 2” offers a more accessible price, and “Discount Tier 1” offers something in the middle.

We recognize that even the most affordable Tuition Tier is a stretch for many people, so we fundraise and organize the work flow at camp to offer Work/Trade Discounts and juried awards we call Merit & Community Discounts.

If you would like to make a direct, tax-deductible donation to Miles of Music Camp to support these discounts, please sign up for our email list, and we will email you when our next fund drive is announced.

Thanks for the many ways you all continue to give to our community – whether with your time, energy, talents, financial resources or all of the above.  Good luck in the Lottery and we expect to see you all on the Island one day soon.

– Kristin, Laura & the Miles of Music Advisory Committee

APPLICATION DEADLINES

Feb 18, 2019 - Deadline for all applications (General Lottery, Work/Trade, Merit & Community Discounts).

Late February / Early March - All lottery results announced

If you’re offered a spot at camp, you’ll have two weeks from the date of the offer to pay the balance owed or request a full refund of your $100 deposit.

Anyone not offered a spot at camp will be put on a Waiting List. Offers will be extended on a rolling basis according to the type of spot that has opened up (adult, youth etc). We’ll keep your deposit as long as you choose to remain on the waiting list, or until May 17, 2019, when we will refund all deposits to all people not yet committed to a spot at camp. You may also request a refund on your deposit by removing yourself from the waiting list at any time.

Looking for more clarity on the application and lottery process? Read on.

APPLICATION PROCESS

Because Miles of Music Island Camp is awesome, it’s also very popular! We use a lottery system in order to offer campers an extended application period with an organized acceptance system in which every applicant gets an answer at the same time.

If you apply by the deadline, your name will be put into a hat and then drawn at random. We use two hats — one for “returning campers” and one for “new campers”, because we want a balance of both.

If you’ve applied as a group (with friends or family), we’ll name your group and enter that name as many times as there are people in your party. That means your fates are linked, and you’ll either all get in or all get on the waiting list together.

All applicants and applicant groups will receive an email by early March letting you know one of two things:

  1. You’ve been accepted into camp, OR

  2. We’ve put your name on a waiting list.

If you’ve been placed on the waiting list, we’ll let you know on a rolling basis if a spot has opened up for you at camp.

The application fee is a refundable deposit of $100/person (see below for the various refund deadlines).

The 2019 Island Camp Lottery is closed. Click the button below to apply for the waiting list.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Once you’ve been offered a spot at camp, you may cancel with partial refunds according to the following calendar:

  • If you cancel within two weeks of your acceptance, we’ll refund your $100 deposit in full.

  • If you’ve paid in full and you cancel before April 1st, we’ll offer a refund minus your $100 deposit.

  • If you’ve paid in full and you cancel between April 2nd and May 1st, we’ll give you a 50% refund.

  • If you cancel between May 2nd and May 17th, we’ll give you a 25% refund.

  • If you cancel after May 17th, no refunds will be given.
