2026 ISLAND CAMP

PRICING & REGISTRATION

Space at Miles of Music Island Camp is limited, and demand is high. Each year we receive 2–3 times more applications than we can accommodate. To keep the process fair and accessible, we use a lottery-based admissions system and a tiered tuition model.

TUITION

A Note on Pricing

Island Camp is supported by a mix of tuition, individual donations, and community fundraising. Rather than setting a single fixed price, we use a tiered tuition system so that those who are able to pay more help make it possible for others to attend at a discounted or Work Trade rate.

New for 2026:

  • Adult tiered tuition and private cabin rates have increased by $200

  • Work Trade, Youth, and Child rates have increased by $50

Thanks to the generosity of campers who choose Supporter tuition — along with our broader donor community — discounted and Work Trade options remain deeply subsidized.

TIERED PRICING

Adult Campers (Ages 15+)

Private Cabin – $2,700
A limited number of private cabins are available (most cabins are double occupancy). If selected in the lottery, we’ll confirm availability and offer alternatives if needed.

Supporter – $2,000
Pays it forward by helping fund discounted and Work Trade tuition for fellow campers.

Standard – $1,700
Closest to the actual cost of the program.

Discounted – $1,200
Supported by community fundraising and donations.

Important: The lottery is completely blind to your tuition choice.
You’ll select your tuition tier only after you’ve been invited and are confirming your spot.

Work Trade (AGES 15+)

$650

A limited number of spots are available for campers who participate in the Work Trade program, which involves 1.5–2 hours of work per day (primarily kitchen support). If all positions are filled, we’ll contact you to see if you’d like to enter the General Lottery at the tiered tuition rates listed above.

Youth & Children (attending with a parent/guardian)

Youth (ages 9–14): $825

Child (ages 4–8): $700

APPLICATION PROCESS

We use a lottery system for all admissions.

  • Apply by the deadline to be entered into the lottery

  • Names are drawn randomly from two pools:

    • Returning campers

    • New campers

  • This helps us maintain a balance of continuity and new voices each year

Application Fee

  • $10 non-refundable fee per applicant

  • Waived for monthly sustaining Miles of Music donors
(Set up a monthly donation and we’ll send you a fee-waiver code.)

LOTTERY acceptance

All applicants will be notified in February and will receive one of the following:

  • An invitation to attend camp, or

  • Placement on the waitlist

Waitlisted campers are invited on a rolling basis as spots open.

Rotation Guidelines for the Lottery

To balance community continuity and access for new campers, we use the following guidelines:

1. Third Time Is a Charm

If you’ve applied two years in a row without being offered a spot, we’ll prioritize you in the third year. (We track this — but feel free to remind us.)

2. Fourth Year, Time to Rotate

If you’ve attended camp three years in a row, we ask that you consider rotating yourself out for a year.
If you don’t opt out, we’ll rotate you out on your fourth consecutive year.

These guidelines are not absolute — exceptions can be made — but in general, 2–3 consecutive years helps keep the community healthy and open.

If you rotate out, we hope you’ll stay connected through:

  • Imperfectionist Song Society

  • Online workshops

  • Art Shares

  • Community gatherings

Please email us if you’re rotating out, applying for a third time, or have questions.
