TUITION ASSISTANCE
(and how to apply)

Miles of Music is committed to making Island Camp as accessible as possible. In addition to our tiered tuition model, we offer Merit & Community Discounts and a Work Trade option to support musicians who might not otherwise be able to attend.

All tuition assistance options are applied for through the same Island Camp lottery application.

MERIT & COMMUNITY DISCOUNTS

Each year, we offer a limited number of no-strings-attached tuition discounts to both first-time and returning campers.

These awards range from partial discounts to full tuition and are granted by an anonymous Selection Committee that does not include any camp directors or staff. Financial need may be considered.

Amateur and professional musicians of all ages are welcome to apply. You may apply as an individual or with a buddy if you’d feel more comfortable attending together.

We encourage applicants to apply in all categories for which they are eligible. Awards are distributed across categories and vary in amount.

Discount Categories for 2026:

Working Musician
For campers pursuing a career in music who would benefit from Island Camp as a space for professional growth.

Musician of Color
For musicians who see themselves reflected in this identity and demonstrate curiosity and engagement in their musical practice. Open to all ages.

Musician of Wabanaki Descent
For musicians who belong to a nation in the Wabanaki Confederacy (Mi’kmaq, Maliseet, Passamaquoddy, Abenaki, Penobscot). Open to all ages.

Youth
For musicians age 17 or under who show dedication and interest in developing their craft.

Parent
For parents seeking financial support who show curiosity and commitment to their musical practice. Awardees may attend with or without their children.

First-Time Camper
For applicants who would not be able to attend Island Camp without financial assistance. Open to all ages.

Community Continuity
For returning campers who have contributed positively to the Miles of Music community — musically and interpersonally — and who may need support this year after paying full tuition in the past.
